Athletes need more protein than non-athletes. That’s because protein is necessary to repair the muscle damage caused by hard-training and intense competitions. When athletes don’t eat enough of this nutrient, it’s harder to build muscle, lose fat, and recover from practices, workouts, and games.

We work with athletes and active people of all ages, educating them on how best to fuel their bodies. We believe nutrition is highly individualized and work closely with our clients to figure out what will help them succeed.

Primarily, we recommend athletes emphasize minimally-processed sources of lean protein. That includes animal protein such as lean beef, chicken, turkey, and fish, and plant-based protein such as lentils, beans, edamame, tempeh, and tofu.

But research shows that athletes rarely meet all of their nutritional needs.1 Even those who try to eat a healthy diet may not get enough fluids, calories, macronutrients, or micronutrients.2 This is true for everyone from youth athletes to professional athletes.

“After only two weeks working with Elite Nutrition I could immediately see and feel a difference in not only my body but my performance on the field and in the gym.
